Why You Want Or Need The Septic Tank Pumping Ca Contractors Can Do For You

By Helen Jackson

The septic system you have in your yard is crucial for you health and safety. It funnels all of the dirty water you flush down the many drains you have. This, in turn, is processed and allowed to flow out into the ground water receiving systems. It must be maintained and, for that reason, you may need to contract for the septic tank pumping CA contractors do for many others, possibly in your neighborhood.

This system works in a very specific way. It is constructed from, usually, a fiberglass material. It may have two chambers but can work properly with only one. It has a pipe coming from the house, connected to the main dirty water evacuation system. This pipe is connected to the top of the container closest to the house.

The pipe, connected to this unit will allow the waste water to flow into the chamber. There are solids, of course, and liquids. The solids will fall and the liquids will float on top. The liquids will continue to populate the tank through the chemical reaction of the solids and naturally occurring enzymes. As more liquids are added and created through this process, the level rises and can begin to flow through the top outflow pipe connected to the other side of the unit.

The pipe that brings the dirty water to the container will often get clogged. This could be due to things flushed that got caught. It also could have happened because of a tree root that breaks through it. Other, naturally occurring situations can also impact this or the outflow pipe. A plumber will need to handle this issue.

As the liquid level grows, it can flow out of the opposite side through a pipe connected at about the same level as the inflow pipe. This allows the liquids to go out into the drain field. The drain field is constructed with a perforated pipe, gravel, sand and appropriate amounts of soil. This means there are three things to go wrong. The inflow pipe, the tank itself and the drain field.

Problems with the pipes, either inflow or outflow will require the services of a plumber, of course. The unit, itself, if it is getting too full, may not be working properly. The addition of more enzymes might get it back in shape or a pumping may be required. The drain field, if it is clogged up, and it can be, must be dug down to and reconditioned with a lot of equipment and guys that will get dirty.

If it is discovered that a pumping is needed, the company will bring in a fairly large pump truck. The lid of this container will be exposed and removed as hoses will be connected to make it easy to get to into and to the bottom of the container. The hoses will be connected to the pump and it will be turned on. All the material will be pumped out and into the truck for disposal at special dump sites.

With the pump truck removing all of this material from your tank, a hose, using fresh water and a brush on a long pole, will be used to rinse off the tank, on the inside. This will help return the tank back to a condition that will begin the process all over again. This means the crew will get it pumped out, cleaned and ready for another load of enzymes to get your septic tank ready to go to work, properly.
